The Tralar System was discovered
to be an ideal site for the home of the New Imperium and the Senate, in
geographical, military, and economical terms.
It is located at an ideal spot in Epsilon Sector, far enough away from
the border, yet close enough to harbor ambassadors from the Unified Galactic
Republic, along with other groups and various races who live nearby. There
are seven planets in the system.

Notes: Tilos is the first planet in the Tralar system, and the second smallest. As with many planets closest to their suns, Tilos is a barren world of little use or concern. It hold very high le vels of radiation that might be useful in mining except for its proximity to the sun. As of this writing, no plans have been made to use the world. |

Notes: Arlia is a barren, burned world heavy in volcanic activity. At one point it was home to an ancient civilization, though we have no knowledge of this species' specific characteristics or appearance. We do, however, have evidence of them in the ruins of their cities. Though mostly reduced to stone foundations, these sites have seen an influx of archaeologists recently, who have attempted to unlock some of the secrets from Arlia's ancient past. Unfortunately, the toxic atmosphere requires a full environmental suit, and limits scientists in their work. It could be quite some time before we find out more about this ancient civilization that existed in the same system as the Tralarians. Speculation that these were a related species have not yet been confirmed, and may not for some time. |

Notes: Before exploration by the Empire, Tralaria was under control of a democratic (but technologically inferior) race, the Tralarians(see Tralarians). The Tralarians originated on Tralar III, or Tralaria, and advanced to form a stable system of government. When discovered, the Tralarians' technology level would be considered almost at the Interplanetary level, as they had sent probes and scouts to the other worlds in their system, but had not yet colonized any of them. There was a single starbase in orbit that could house only a couple hundred of their race at a time. An Imperial long range scouting fleet consisting of a Victory Star Destroyer, two Dreadnaughts, and escorts explored the system and was pleased to discover such a valuable world in its comparable (to the Empire) infancy. They quickly began negotiating with the Tralarians, who were not particularly pleased with having to serve another civilization, but were willing to bear it to recieve the advanced technology the Empire had to offer in return. The Tralar System was the only system the fleet had discovered with a sentient species at that point. After brief negotiations, the Imperials deposited one of their prefabricated colony bases and a couple thousand people with supplies and technology. The Imperials agreed to live on Trilaria near one of their largest cities and teach the Tralarians about Imperial technology while gathering all the information they could on the Tralarians' unique aquatic technologies, their physiology, etc. until a proper Imperial colonization project arrived. The scouting fleet then rushed off to catalog the rest of the systems in the sector. The scouting fleet made their way to Varnus(see info on the Varnus system) where they met another advanced civilization, however they did not know that a small Rebel base was nearby in the Firma System. The Rebels, then a radical, dispersed group(the actual Rebellion was formed much later), arrived shortly after the Imperials, and a battle ensued. In the confusion one side or the other (perhaps both) bombed Varnus for taking sides and brought about the devestation of Varnus. It is unclear what happened next, but due to recent research by New Imperial scientists they have come up with a working conclusion. The Imperials technically won the battle, and while a small attack force (actually part of a third faction posing as Imperials) followed the Rebels to their base and destroyed it, then vanished. The rest of the Imperial fleet, being harrased by the remaining Rebel forces consisting of bombers (the Imperials had lost most of their fighters) retreated towards the Rim, into the Unknown Regions. Neither they nor the pursuing Rebels ever returned, causing much speculation today as to what actually happened. Neither the Imperials or the Rebels were able to send a report back to their commands, and thus all the exploratory information was lost and the team on Tralaria abandoned. Years later, Tralar was rediscovered by Intruder Wing scouts, who found that the Imperial colonists had integrated their society in with the Tralarians. Thus the Tralarians were never subject to some of the cruelty and racism of the Empire, and were friendly towards humans. This greatly worked to the NI's advantage as the Tralarians helped them construct cities on the numerous continents, including the New Imperial Senate head of Government. The Trilarians now live with the Imperials in a state of unity. Tralar is covered by vast, deep oceans teeming with life. There are a number of small continents dispersed around the planet. The Tralarians lived in a combination both on land and underwater, the latter being large artificial caverns and floating cities which connected to the terrestrial sections. This made the cities a patchwork of areas connected by bridges and tunnels. They were surprisingly advanced in matters of their world, but were slow to acquire the technology or even the desire for colonizing the other planets in the system. The Tralar
System is now teeming with activity, construction is going on on nearly
every planet in the system, and large cities have been built on the homeworld.
The main center of the planet is now the New Imperial Senate, constructed
as a variation of the one used on Coruscant. The Senate is in the heart
of the capital city, which is a combination of Human and Tralarian work.
The Tralarian High Council go to the Senate with any matter concerning
the world or the Tralarian race, and the Senate is usually more than happy
to oblige their unlikely but fortunate allies. The rest of the system is
very busy with ships coming and going about their business. Tralaria has
become the commercial center of the New Imperium as well as the economic
center. However, a strong military presence there is discouraged, as the
Tralar System is considered Neutral Territory and due to the innate peaceful
nature of the Tralarians, and only a militia force is usually required
to maintain order and stop pirating activities. Still, even neutral territory
must be defended in case of an attack, and there is a full defense force
capable of defending the system. The space around the planet is filled
with ships, NI Flagship and a multitude of Star Destroyers. Orbiting the
planet itself are several platforms and a large starbase on which incoming
ships can dock (up to Star Destroyer size). In addition, several Golan
Battle Platforms are in orbit to ensure the safety of Tralaria against
any type of ship or attack in the known galaxy.
The Tralarians are an amphibious race, the only native sentient species on Tralaria. They are a very organized people, though at first glance one might question the word people. Trilarians generally have blue, green, or brownish skin, and almost resemble a nontransparent jellyfish. Their body is shaped somewhat like an insect, with two main body segments: the head and the trunk. They move about slowly on six small footlike structures, but a Tralarian is at home in the water. They are able to use a jet propulsion system that lets them attain speeds of 50 kmh for short periods of time. They have gill-like structures, but these gills also are used to breath air, and their bodies do not dry out on land. They have two main eyes and several smaller eyes on the top of their heads. Their appendeges consist of tentacle-like arms, which are thin at the ends and can be combined to act as hands. Tralarians are omnivores, but their mouths are not made for human speech. Instead they communicate via sounds and whistles, a very complex system that travels underwater well. Consequently, a translator is needed either for a Tralarian or a member of another race when conversing. Tralarians have standard hearing capabilities which are enhanced when underwater. They are also very sensitive to vibrations, both on land and underwater. Their eyesight is comparable to a human's, albeit with more eyes. Their sense of smell is limited, and perhaps an advantage considering much of what the Tralarians eat is raw. Considering all this, Tralarians' technology is mostly incompatible with that of humans, due to their language and tentacles instead of hands with opposable thumbs. Some integration hasbeen successful, however, and the coorperative nature of the Tralarians has helped them come to an understanding relationship. |

Notes: Kanassa is the only other planet in the system with a breathable atmosphere. It is much like Hoth in that most of the world is a frozen iceland, however it has seen an influx of activity since the NI moved in. Mining operations draw ore and oil from deep within the planet, and several research colonies operate on the surface, as well. Kanassa is a compbination of glacial plains and mountanous regions. It is also locally famous for its natural ice sculptures, which has been formed by erosion into complex and usually gigantic shapes. Spurred on by this, some artists from the NI have come to Kanassa and erected their own sculptures, which remain for years because of the dry, cold conditions. |

Notes: Syadal is the first of two gas giants, and the largest. It is generally
average for a gas giant, with beautiful cloud swirls and storms offering
an impressive tourist display.
The main use of this planetary system is in its third moon, Onos. A military has been established there, as an advance defense in the case of a system attack. |

Notes: Ifura is a beautiful gas giant encircled by a wide, vertical ring system consisting of mostly large red rocks. The world is enshrouded by gorgeous red and purple clouds, another popular tourist attraction in the system. The second moon has been established as a research base by NI scientists, providing the only real use for the planetary system. |

Notes: Yadrett is the furthest planet out in the Tralar System, and the smallest. Of little note, the planet is barely more than a spot on the system map charts. It possesses little mineral value, and its isolated position far from the other planets keeps it from being put to any real use. |
