The Talas System was originally settled by ancient trade federations, but was sadly forgotten during the tumultuous events in its later days. When rediscovered by the NI, the system proved to be a valuable resource, and has become a bustling center of activity. Both the colony on Laan and the mining bases on Dalius lend their wealth to the NI’s resources. The system has grown into a mainline NI colony, with Laan as the primary inhabited world. However, with the recent renewed advance
by the Altarin'Dakor, Talas has been cut off from NI forces. An AD task
force entered the lightly defended system and quickly subdued it. Commander
Maarek Stele led a squadron of fighters off planet and escaped, bringing
news of the system's fall. The current condition of the Talas System
is unknown at this time, as AD forces have cut off all access into the
system. |

Ifroth is a colorful yet lifeless rock and of little value to the NI. From a distance, it offers a pleasant view, of a pink, orange, and cream-colored surface, but the actual conditions on-planet are not nearly as pleasant as they may seem. Temperatures vary from frigid to searing, depending upon which side of the planet faces its sun, however the oddly colored rock surface doesn’t change. The surface is also cracked, but sports almost no craters in its surface, indicating minimal collision damage, But, during the day, all surface water is boiled to gas, but collects at night, freezing, creating the long, flowing cracks visible on the surface. |

Laan is the only habitable planet in the Talas System, and a very interesting
place to visit or live. It is quite an
arid place, with a light atmosphere and a terrain consisting almost entirely of craggy, precipitous mountains, canyons, and ravines. All Laan’s land masses are linked, but they are occasionally separated by glossy oceans of cold water (which isn’t drinkable until filtered). Only in one section of the southern, eastern hemisphere do the mountains actually drop off onto a completely flat desert. In certain locations, most numerously

Laan has one moon, named Lana after
the planet itself. A typical selenic moon, it orbits high around the

Laan since the Altarin'Dakor capture of the system. It is assumed that,
as with other captured worlds, Laan has been subjugated and conquered.
The status of its civilians is unknown, but it is likely they are in
dangerous condition, as AD are known to make "worthy" races
slaves and elmiinate the "unworthy" ones. |

Vespus
is shrouded in thick, rich purple and white clouds that obscure nearly
the entire surface from external
view. The planet itself is a hazardous place of deadly gases and toxic chemicals. The greenhouse effect, lessened by the world’s distance from the sun, still keeps the thick atmosphere in and quite inhospitable to nearly all known life. It is, however, a beautiful sight from space, and its current orbit puts it close enough to Laan that it forms a shimmering purple jewel in the planet’s night sky. While containing a number of usable
resources, a mining colony has yet to be established on Vespus. It is,
however, a

Dalius
is the outermost planet in the Talas System. It was discovered by the Old
Republic before the
colonization of Laan, and plans had been made for a mining base to exploit the Dalius’ rich mineral wealth. The base was established, but tumultuous events in the Republic’s latter days found both colonies forgotten. With the implementation of the system into the New Imperium shortly after its founding, the Talas system has grown substantially. Dalius is extraordinarily endowed with
rich veins of ore and metals throughout its rocky crust and core. Deep-core
